IBW 2015 - Bookshop Crawl

22:53

Last week was Independent Booksellers Week and after the success of last year the bookshop crawl was back. Unfortunately it happened to be the same day as everything else in the world. That might be a slight exaggeration but that's certainly what it felt like in the few weeks running up to it. The day of the official crawl I was seeing Taylor Swift and already had plans to spend the day having brunch then going to the gig. After a glass of Prosecco or 5 however I decided I couldn't bare to miss out on all the bookish fun and hatched a genius plan to visit as many bookshops as possible without my friends realising. As you can see I failed miserably but I did try!

I couldn't let it pass me by though. The next day I headed out for a mini crawl on my own to my 4 favourite and most visited independent bookshops in central London, the National Theatre Bookshop, the South Bank Book Market, Gosh and Foyles.

Last years bookshop crawl was the start of me making more regular videos on YouTube. My ability to vlog in public has improved vastly from last years silent video but as you can tell from the quality I'd forgotten to put a battery in my nice camera, my editing software is broken so I used movie maker and it's been so long since I last made a video I spent the whole time looking in the monitor instead of the lens. I am the face of professionalism.

Did any of you do the bookshop crawl this weekend? What did you get?
