A Lush Love Affair
00:23
When I was 11 I had an unhealthy obsession with Lush; they knew my name in the shop. Then I fell out of love with them and baths in general save for the occasional bath bomb I’d get for Christmas. It wasn’t until I laid my eyes on a extremely glittery bath melt called Star Light Star Bright this Christmas that my love affair was reignited. I’d bought it as a present for a friend who loves baths but as it sat in my room waiting to be wrapped the smell was so lovely and citrusy I knew I’d have to go back and get myself one. Since then, along side a guilt gift bath bomb from my sister and a gift set from an auntie for my birthday, I’ve found myself going on a few trips to lush to aid the hours I now seem to be spending reading in the tub.
Bubblegrub – Bubbleroon – £2.95
One from the Mother’s Day line that came out today, these cute little guy reminds me of the very hungry caterpillar. A orange bubble bar with white chocolate eyes and vanilla pod antennas stuck to a glittery green one. I’m going to feel rather cruel crumbling this one up.
Yuzu and Cocoa – Bubbleroon – £3.65
Of all the bath products I’ve bought recently this one smells the best, coconuty and slightly chocolatey. It’s made of two little bubble bars sandwiched together with shea butter so it’s going to be really moisturising.
Floating Island – Bath Melt – £4.35
As an 11-year-old flicking through the Lush Times I often looked at Floating Island but then usually opted for the cheaper and sweeter Creamy Candy bubble bar. It packed with almond oil and cocoa butter which leaves your skin feeling super silky and soft.
Mint Julips – Lip Scrub – £5.50
Had I not seen Marion include this on her blog the other day I probably wouldn’t have even looked at this lip sugar scrub but it has immediately become a favourite. After use my lips feel so soft and taste amazing. It tastes like after eights and leaves you with a perfect base for lipstick.
Mother Superior – Bubble Bar – £3.75
Another one from the Mother’s Day line, this little nun may look like she’s coming down with a strange smurf disease but she smells lovely.
Rose – Bubble Bar – £2.95
I’m not entirely sure why I bought this as I’m really not keen on rose things but the sparkles got me.
Unicorn Horn – Bubble Bar – £3.25
This one seems to have hit it the big time on YouTube and according to the woman I spoke to in the shop stores around the UK have been selling out fast. This bar just reminds me of Miley Cyrus’ instagram (it’s a joy if you’re into spams of terrible photoshops). The website says it scented with neroli and lavender essential oils but just sniffing the bar it doesn’t really smell of much. Hopefully once crumbled into a hot bath it will smell better.
The question now is which one do I use while I finish off reading The Shadow Cabinet?
